Quantum Spacetime Interlock Law (QSIL)

Open access0 citations

Abstract

This manuscript proposes the Quantum Spacetime Interlock Law (QSIL), a target-driven variational framework for the inverse design of quantum-field stress-energy associated with transient wormhole geometries. The central idea is to reverse the conventional forward problem. Instead of selecting a quantum state and determining the resulting geometry, QSIL begins with prescribed spacetime boundary regions and a target geometry, constructs the corresponding required stress-energy tensor, and seeks controllable quantum-field parameters whose renormalized expectation value approaches the target source. A normalized dimensionless interlock functional is introduced using a weighted tensor inner product to quantify source-to-target alignment. The proposed selection framework combines the interlock threshold with wormhole throat conditions, quantum-energy admissibility, stability requirements, geometric self-consistency, and causal-consistency constraints. Analytical derivations are developed for the Morris-Thorne benchmark with zero redshift, including the flare-out condition, stress-energy components, and null-energy-condition violation. A reduced-order numerical experiment uses exponentially localized radial basis functions to reconstruct the target stress-energy profile. The study evaluates mode convergence, interlock fidelity, reconstruction of the throat derivative, a held-out-grid test, and robustness under 5% noisy observations. The results demonstrate the numerical behavior and stability of the proposed inverse-design machinery within the controlled reduced-order model. The manuscript also examines a formal 2026-to-2006 past-directed boundary test as a chronology stress test. This temporal example is not treated as evidence for a physical time machine or macroscopic spacetime portal. QSIL is presented as a proposed and falsifiable mathematical framework rather than an established physical law. The present numerical validation does not demonstrate the existence of a physical quantum state supporting a traversable wormhole. A full publication-grade physical test would require a specified quantum field theory, proper renormalization of the quantum stress-energy tensor, self-consistent semiclassical Einstein evolution, stability analysis, quantum-inequality constraints, and detailed chronology testing. Keywords: traversable wormholes; quantum fields; semiclassical gravity; negative energy; inverse design; spacetime geometry; quantum control; chronology; theoretical physics.
