Synthesis, Structure, and Antimicrobial Activity of Tetrahydrochromeno[2,3-d]pyrimidine Derivatives
Abstract
Abstract A series of new alkoxy derivatives and hydrazides was synthesized based on tetrahydrochromeno[2,3-d]pyrimidinones. The obtained compounds were tested for antimicrobial activity against reference strains of gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus ATCC-25923), gram-negative (Escherichia coli C1, Pseudomonas fluorescens A1) bacteria and fungi (Candida albicans ATCC 10231). Chlorine-substituted hydrazide showed the highest activity against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC-25923 (MIC 32 µg/mL) and Pseudomonas fluorescens A1 (MIC 16 µg/mL), which indicates the prospects of this structural type for further medical and chemical optimization.
