Pre-registration No. 1: Three Registries, Two Rivers. A spatial comparison of French, Brazilian and Surinamese mining-title registries along the Maroni–Lawa and Oyapock
Abstract
This deposit is a pre-registered protocol, not a results paper. It is deposited before any official Surinamese mining-title register is published. Research question. Along the Maroni–Lawa–Litani (French Guiana / Suriname) and the Oyapock (French Guiana / Brazil), where does each sovereign grant a legal title for gold, and how asymmetric is that titled stock from one bank to the other? The object measured is the stock of titles. The protocol does not measure extraction, production, gold flows or trade. Trigger (T1). The first qualifying official publication of Suriname’s title register (Cabinet, Ministry of Natural Resources, Geological Mining Service, or official gazette), containing per title at least an identifier, type of right, holder, status or dates, and geometry or corner coordinates. Press copies and third-party maps do not qualify. Confirmatory content locked in §§5–9: four functional title classes, river-centred bands (5 / 10 / 25 km; 10 km primary), six outcomes (D1–D6), four directional predictions (P1–P4), seven stopping rules (A1–A7). Analyses not listed there will be labelled exploratory. French baseline (T0). Camino public extract of 22 September 2026, 22:21 UTC (6,158 titles). SHA-256 of the full extract: cff9376a64948b7877f156080c4ce478e22f1c4e7ffb00be9bc9a540b732d6d1. SIGMINE (Amapá, Pará) has not been downloaded as of this deposit. Deadlines. Status note 31 December 2026; null report and closure if no qualifying publication by 30 June 2027. Licence of the Camino source data: Licence Ouverte / Open Licence 2.0 (Etalab).
