Abstract

FESS >< FHESS Working Paper — Research Note 22 documents the developing inquiry into TWO REFERENTIAL GESTALTS and their relation to scientific, ethical and institutional readability. The working paper begins from an endological finding: Petra De Sutter and Izzeldin Abuelaish make a new reading of the professors who taught the author available, as a polemical grammar no longer remains necessary as the entry grammar. This finding reopens the ethical-scientific configuration encountered during the author's university formation through the scientific positions of Leo Apostel, Etienne Vermeersch and Jaap Kruithof. A central distinction develops between TOUCH, METAPOSITION and ENTRY INTO THE EARLIER ETHICAL-SCIENTIFIC FIELD. PETRA >< IZZELDIN functions as TOUCH; the METAPOSITION belongs to the researcher's endological reading position; and the metaposition enters the earlier ethical-scientific field through the scientific positions of the professors themselves. The inquiry remains grounded in the factual battlefield configuration: the configuration is first encountered empirically, after which reading begins. GESTALT designates the empirically encountered configuration; GRAMMAR makes the empirically encountered readable. This sequence preserves the empirical field as the point of departure for subsequent configurational reading. From this opening, the working paper examines PEACE >< ATTACK and the grammars through which the encountered Gestalts become readable, together with three formulations: I SHALL NOT GRAMI SHALL NOT HATEI SHALL NOT RESPOND, I SHALL ANSWER Their configurational reading opens the relation CARE ACTIVATES >< GRACES HAPPEN and the distinction DIALOGICAL RESPONSE >< ENDOLOGICAL ANSWER. A checkbox experiment subsequently emerges as a research instrument for examining which capacities become addressed, actualised and made available across different reference grammars and institutional configurations. The document deliberately preserves the genealogy of the inquiry, including intermediate questions, provisional registrations, corrections and operator interventions. The checkbox matrix therefore appears at the stage at which it entered the research process, allowing the reader to follow the development from the original finding toward successive configurational tests. Status: WORKING PAPER — provisional research material. The findings, distinctions and formulations remain available for further empirical, configurative and interdisciplinary testing.
