Designing a Research Project to Explore the Emergence of Spacetime, Particles, and Interactions from States and Relations: A Framework of Preliminary Design and Feasibility Verification for Foundational-Physics Model Exploration under Uncertainty

Open access0 citations

Abstract

This paper presents no completed physical theory. The Standard Model and General Relativity are highly successful in their respective domains, yet no framework uniquely recovers low-energy physics, a quantum description of spacetime, the cosmological background, and observables at once. The author has been exploring whether spacetime, fields, particles, mass, charge, distance, and time can be generated spontaneously from a smaller set of nameless distinguishable states and relations, rather than being given from the start. Because equation-first exploration tends to drift whenever an interesting numerical phenomenon appears, this paper instead applies project-management research on exploratory projects under uncertainty (Turner-Cochrane; Pich-Loch-De Meyer; Lenfle) together with the author's IT consulting and system-design experience, and redesigns the research as a long-term exploratory project. It defines an iterative structure - philosophical principles, a provisional goal image, preliminary design, feasibility verification, numerical experiments, and revision of both design and goal image - and separates philosophical principles, axiom candidates, goal images, preliminary-design assumptions, numerically observed phenomena, and conditions for comparison with known physics. First principles under consideration include nameless distinguishable states, non-direct readability with observation defined as interaction-mediated readout, and the non-exclusion of self-interaction. Performance targets include boundedness, discrete causality, and a relation-dependent resolution floor. Quantum behavior is treated not as an axiom but as a phenomenon to be derived or refuted. Success conditions explicitly include the discovery of infeasibility. Japanese and English versions are included.
