Abstract

UKRAINE (U-KRAJ-NA). THE STATE AND THE NATION WHOSE NAME MEANS LAST, FINAL, EDGE, FRIDGE or BORDERLAND ! ***** The Ukrainian-Russian crisis and the Geopolitical Chessboard: A Historical and Analytical Approach By Stefanos Sotiriou, Historian UKRAINE (U-KRAJNA) The state and nation whose name means LAST, FINAL, or BORDERLAND! 12 Απριλίου, 2022 «A Brief Retrospective to Understand What Ukraine Is – April 12, 2022». 1) The Christianization of the Russians took place in Kiev, their first capital (present-day Ukraine), in 988 AD, when the king of Russ Vladimir was baptized as a Christian, married Anna, the sister of Basileios ΙΙ, Byzantine Emperor from the Macedonian Dynasty, the «Bulgar-Slayer», and took the name «Basileios». The ceremony was held in Greek region Chersonesos (Cherson), now known as Crimea under its Tatar newer name. 2) Since then, throughout history, many duchies, principalities, and small states of the Russians were formed. 3) The Russians were divided into three tribes: A) the Great Russians (VELIKORUS), B) the White Russians (BELARUS), and C) the Little Russians (MALORUS). 4) In the western regions, where the Little Russians lived, came Polish, German, and Lithuanian conquerors. They forced part of the Orthodox Little Russian population to accept the UNION with Vatican (in other words to be a kind of Orthodox rite Vatican's Vasals and some to convert to Roman Catholicism). These regions were around the city of Lviv (Leontioupolis in gr.– Lemberg in German, Lvov in Russian, or Lviv in Ukrainian). 5) This area was the Russian border with the WEST, and the word for border or edge in Slavic was «KRAI». So, «U-KRAI-NA» means = AT THE EDGE (Remember the "Krajina" of the Serbs in Croatia?). Thus, the name «Ukraine» was the term used by the Russians to denote their western frontier (It is a Greek word, derived from AKRI–KRAI). The state of Ukraine (here the state precedes the nation. That is, first they made a state and then persuaded the inhabitants that they are not Slavs but like «Macedonians», etc.) is clearly an invention of the German Reich, of the Prussians, who bordered Russia. They wanted to create a PATCHWORK state between Prussia and Russia and worked for its creation up to 1945 under Hitler. 6) In 1918, the Communists (LENIN) decided to create so-called in the science of Historiography «SOCIALISTIC NATIONS» and STATES. They also created a state with the artificial name «U-KRAI-NA», meaning «BORDERLAND» or «FRINGE» state in the exact sense of the term. Thus, they began forming a «BORDER» or «FRINGE» national identity centered around the UNIATES and Roman Catholics of Lviv, who comprised a population of 6 to 8 million UNIATES and a few Roman Catholics (mainly Poles). NATIONALITY: FRINGE! Later, of course, many more Russian-speaking citizens developed a Ukrainian National Identity, because a new circle of economic interests emerged in Kiev, a new elite, separate newspapers in a language very close to Russian, television, literature, school curricula, and history… To see the magnitude of what I am describing, you only need to know that Ukrainians today are taught that King VLADIMIR, whom they call VOLODIMIR, THE ONE WHO CHRISTIANIZED THE RUSSIANS and was the son-in-law of the BYZANTINE EMPEROR, BASILEIOS THE BULGAR-SLAYER, was not King of the Russians but King of the Ukrainians. This is what Ukrainian history now teaches. SAINT VOLODIMIR, not VLADIMIR! (Does it remind you something how Skopje built its pseudohistory???) Today, those with Ukrainian national identity, mainly in western and central Ukraine, form a significant majority (Ethnic Russians live in the east, from Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk – Dnipro is the homeland of Khrushchev and Brezhnev – to Odessa, numbering over 10 million. Russian speakers in general exceed 25 million). 7) During World War II, ONLY THE WESTERN Ukrainians sided with Hitler
