Technology in Front of Government

Open access0 citations

Abstract

This working paper follows the changing expressions placed in front of “government” as information technology moved from electronic information management and networked access to mobile, ubiquitous, smart, intelligent, platform, digital-platform, and AI government. It is intended as a guide to the historical terrain: it retains institutional settings, competing labels, Korean and international plan sequences, and technical meanings rather than reducing the history to a clean succession of slogans. The evidence shows repeated coexistence and layering: new names often appeared before older ones disappeared, and the number of technological families is smaller than the number of government labels.
