Abstract
Ship J2 was discovered and excavated by the Institut Européen d’Archéologie Sous-Marine (IEASM) in the Portus Magnus of Alexandria, Egypt, between 2023 and 2024. According to its construction details and the ceramic assemblage from the fill of the hull, the ship dates to the 1st–2nd centuries AD. The ship's rigging included a rare block with two sets of four sheaves each. This article contains the description and interpretation of this find.
