Research on the integration method of power transfer and data communication based on LCL resonant topology

Open access0 citations

Abstract

To address the limitations of traditional Power Line Carrier (PLC) communication, which can only transmit weak signals and struggles to balance high-power supply in strong interference environments, this paper proposes a power and signal integration method based on an LCL resonant topology. Unlike conventional PLC that superimposes communication signals onto the power-frequency grid, this scheme utilizes the LCL resonant network to construct a physical channel characterized by "isolation at power frequency and conduction at high frequency." This enables efficient transmission of hundred-watt-level high-frequency power while simultaneously performing narrowband data communication. By establishing a fundamental equivalent model of the system, the dual mechanisms of impedance matching and bandpass filtering of the LCL topology near the resonant frequency are revealed. This demonstrates its feasibility in ensuring power transfer efficiency while naturally suppressing power-frequency and broadband noise through frequency selectivity. Simulation and experimental results show that the system can stably deliver hundred-watt-level power at a resonant frequency of 20 kHz. It exhibits excellent robustness in noisy environments, achieving a Bit Error Rate (BER) of 0.0649 even with a Gaussian white noise Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) as low as 5 dB. This research achieves the integrated "power supply and communication" functionality over power lines, offering a highly reliable and high-power-density transmission solution for local energy internet applications in complex electromagnetic environments.
