MyPaper.id: An Open Science Operating System

Open access0 citations

Abstract

Abstract: Academic publishing faces pervasive vulnerabilities including priority theft, unauthorized pre-print tampering, opaque peer review pipelines, and centralized repository single-points-of-failure. In this paper, we present MyPaper.id, a decentralized Open Science Operating System designed for instantaneous cryptographic manuscript authentication, physical quantum entropy sealing, and immutable public ledger anchoring. The platform couples a Kindle-inspired academic reading environment with a three-layer cryptographic provenance pipeline: (1) client-side SHA-256 manuscript hashing with sovereign secp256k1 identity signatures; (2) Quantum Random Number Generation (QRNG) seeded by trapped-ion Hadamard superposition gates executed on IonQ processors, parameterized with explicit target verification flags (isHardwareQPU); and (3) low-latency transaction anchoring on the Stellar Horizon consensus protocol. We formalize the mathematical framework for normalized Shannon entropy H(X) per qubit, describe the chain-agnostic metadata synchronization model (Zenodo DOI, CrossRef, and ORCID), and evaluate system benchmarks. Our empirical evaluation demonstrates average ledger anchoring latencies under 3.4 seconds, 100% tamper detection accuracy, and full academic transparency for pre-print priority verification ORCID: 0009-0000-4959-0169
