Holy Mary, Gate of Heaven

Abstract

This work examines the Marian title “Gate of Heaven” (Ianua Caeli), analysing its biblical, theological and spiritual foundations. It examines the relationship of this title with the centrality of Jesus Christ in salvation, Mary’s spiritual motherhood, her intercession, her wisdom and the tradition of the Church. The article presents “Gate of Heaven” as an expression of Christian hope and of trust in Mary’s maternal help on the path towards eternal communion with God.
