Abstract

Innovation strategies have become a central aspect of corporate competitiveness and operational efficiency, especially within multinational corporations (MNCs) operating in developing economies. This study examines the impact of innovation strategies on the performance of selected MNCs in Juba, South Sudan. Drawing from the dissertation content, the study explores technological innovations, process innovations, product development strategies, and market-driven innovation activities and their influence on corporate performance outcomes such as customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, productivity, and overall competitiveness. Guided by the Ubuntu/Ukama theory, which emphasises interconnectedness, collaboration, and mutual benefit, the study recognises that employee cooperation, collective problem-solving, and shared organisational values are critical for successfully implementing innovation strategies. Using a quantitative research design and structured questionnaires administered to employees of selected MNCs, the findings indicate a strong positive relationship between innovation strategies and organisational performance. MNCs that adopt deliberate innovation initiatives, particularly technological upgrades, workflow improvements, and customer-focused innovations, report enhanced productivity, improved service delivery, and greater competitive advantage. The study concludes by recommending increased investment in innovation capability, employee training, and organisational systems that support continuous improvement while fostering a collaborative, interconnected workplace culture consistent with the principles of Ubuntu.
