Molecular Response Mechanisms Underlying Soybean-Cyst Nematode Interactions at the Single-Cell Level
Abstract
Soybean is an annual herbaceous species belonging to the genus Glycine of the Fabaceae family. Soybean cyst nematode (SCN) represents one of the most destructive pathogens threatening global soybean production. Previous studies have demonstrated that feeding site selection and syncytium formation are indispensable for successful nematode parasitism. During this process, nematodes exert profound regulatory effects on the reprogramming of cell fate in host root cells. Therefore, this study employs single cell multi omics technologies to characterize dynamic shifts in cell types and cell differentiation trajectories upon nematode invasion, aiming to uncover the molecular mechanisms underlying cell to cell communication between soybean host cells and cyst nematodes.
