Strategic Management of Autonomous Drone Systems: Value Creation, Organizational Capabilities, and Ecosystem Readiness

Abstract

Autonomous systems are now transitioning from R&D into business assets. When autonomous systems-intelligent machines are combined with sensors, AI, networking and autonomous logic, the machines can execute physical tasks with a degree of autonomy from direct human control. The paper takes a strategic perspective on the integration of unmanned aircraft into the enterprise, exploring how they may be leveraged to deliver sustainable business value while addressing associated regulatory, operational, human resource and cybersecurity risks.
