FinX Terminal: A Quantitative Equity Research Framework for Indian Equities
Abstract
FinX Terminal is a quantitative equity research and investment research framework developed for the analysis of Indian equities. The platform combines historical market and financial data, quantitative stock selection, portfolio construction, macro-to-earnings research, filing-based compounder screening, and derivatives strategy research. The research universe covers approximately 1,000 Indian equities over the period 2004–2026, with emphasis on survivorship-bias-free and point-in-time research. The project also includes an audit of an earlier backtest that produced inflated historical performance, followed by reconstruction of the underlying data layer. The current quantitative equity engine reports a 28.93% CAGR and 1.31 Sharpe ratio over a 13-year post-cost testing period. Additional research modules include Chain Radar, a macro-to-earnings and supply-chain research framework; Multibagger Vault, a filing-based compounder screening system; and a systematic derivatives research sleeve. This technical report documents the research architecture, validation considerations, development process, and selected empirical findings. Certain proprietary signal-construction methodologies, implementation details, source code, confidential datasets, and commercially sensitive information are intentionally withheld. Historical backtest results are not guarantees of future investment performance.
