From Grey Infrastructure to Ecological Void: A Study on the Dynamical Time Density Structure of “Taigyoun Space” in Autonomous Driving Environments
Abstract
Abstract Modern urban streets, largely built on Cartesian orthogonal grids, are geometrically inefficient. Traffic signals further interrupt movement, creating “voids of time” and cutting effective road utility to below 50%. These inefficiencies push dense Asian cities to devote excessive land to roads, worsening environmental impacts and quality of life. This study proposes “Taigyoun Space,” an arithmetic angle grid model for autonomous driving and V2X connectivity. By redefining roads not as static areas but as dynamic fluid systems, we introduce the concept of "Dynamical Time Density (\(\:{\text{D}}_{\text{t}}\))," a metric that quantifies the continuity of kinetic energy flow. Simulation results using a Hybrid algorithm and a Kinematic Bicycle Model reveal that when the road division angular density reaches a critical point of n = 18 (intersection angle ≈ 5° ), traffic shifts from stop-and-go (solid-like) to continuous grazing (liquid-like), enabling minimum-jerk motion without conventional intersections (Dolgov et al., 2008; Kong et al., 2015). Consequently, applying the continuity equation (Q = AV), Taigyoun Space can carry the same traffic with under 50% of the current road area (Cho, 2013). The freed space should become “Ecological Voids” (linear parks, wind corridors, green infrastructure), shifting Asian high-density cities from mechanical efficiency to neurological habitability and bio-centric urbanism.
