A Review Of Airline Pricing Strategies

Open access0 citations

Abstract

This is a research article summarizing airline pricing strategies, why they are likely to succeed, and what types of airline carriers they work best with. The main hypotheses tested are: Prices will go up because of the lessened availability of natural resources and fossil fuels. (H0) New technologies to discover these such as advanced fracking, horizontal and vertical drilling, etc. are implemented, which makes prices go down, coupled with good economic management avoiding recessions and inflation. (H1) Prices might keep going down due to increased job competition, which lowers the median income, which can decrease the demand for expensive air travel. (H2) New forms of transport might come into being in the far future (not necessarily efficient). Many reasons can be there for the elimination of air travel. An example of this is the Hyperloop, an innovative form of transport that can revolutionize travel despite its huge startup costs. (H4)
