How does an ancient civilization survive the collapse of its empire and the sudden imposition of a new global faith? This article investigates the extraordinary resilience of Iran, challenging conventional views on how states adapt to massive historical shifts. By tracing the interplay between institutional continuity, state power, and deep-seated cultural frameworks, the study uncovers how native structures outlasted conquest. Rather than perishing under foreign rule, this society absorbed and reshaped its conquerors from within, forging a distinct and enduring identity.
