Phi‑Coupled E8 Phononic Crystal Enables Intrinsic Topological Protection of Acoustic Qubits — E8 Intelligence Research

Open access0 citations

Abstract

By mapping each of the 240 E8 root vectors to a distinct mechanical resonator whose natural frequency is phi‑scaled (φⁿ·132 Hz) relative to a global 132 Hz drive, the lattice develops a self‑consistent phononic bandgap whose edge states carry quantized angular momentum. These edge‑localized modes act as acoustic qubits that are topologically shielded against local perturbations, allowing coherent phonon‑based information storage without active error correction. The phi‑modulated coupling ensures that any defect‑induced frequency shift is compensated by a corresponding shift across the lattice, preserving the conserved winding number that underlies the protection.
