Abstract Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming education by introducing intelligent technologies that support personalized learning, automated assessment, learning analytics, and data-driven decision-making. While these advancements have enhanced the efficiency and accessibility of educational practices, they cannot replace the human qualities that are fundamental to effective teaching, such as empathy, emotional awareness, ethical judgment, communication, and interpersonal relationships. Emotional Intelligence (EI), defined as the ability to recognize, understand, regulate, and manage emotions in oneself and others, remains an essential competency for teachers in creating positive, inclusive, and learner-centered classrooms. The convergence of AI and EI has therefore emerged as a critical area of interest in teacher education, where technological innovation must be balanced with human values and emotional competence. This conceptual research paper explores how the integration of Artificial Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence can transform teacher education to meet the demands of future educational systems. It examines the complementary roles of AI and EI in enhancing teacher effectiveness, professional development, classroom management, student engagement, and personalized learning experiences. The paper reviews contemporary literature on AI-enabled educational technologies and emotional competencies required for effective teaching, highlighting the opportunities, challenges, ethical considerations, and implications of integrating these two domains. Furthermore, it proposes strategies for redesigning teacher education curricula through AI literacy, digital pedagogical skills, emotional intelligence training, reflective practices, ethical AI usage, and continuous professional development. The study argues that future-ready teachers should possess not only technological proficiency but also strong emotional and social competencies that enable them to respond to the diverse academic, psychological, and socio-emotional needs of learners. AI should be viewed as a supportive educational partner that enhances instructional practices rather than replacing teachers' professional expertise and emotional capabilities. The paper concludes that the successful transformation of teacher education depends on developing educators who can effectively combine intelligent technologies with emotional competence, ethical responsibility, and human-centered pedagogy. Such an integrated approach will foster resilient, innovative, and compassionate teachers capable of preparing students for the challenges and opportunities of the twenty-first century.
