A Study on Accounting and Auditing: Enhancing Financial Reporting, Transparency, and Corporate Governance

Abstract Accounting and auditing play a vital role in ensuring financial transparency, accountability, and effective corporate governance. This study examines how sound accounting practices and independent auditing contribute to reliable financial reporting, stronger internal controls, fraud prevention, regulatory compliance, and informed decision-making. The study adopts a descriptive research design based on primary and secondary data, with statistical tools such as percentage analysis, mean scores, and Chi-square tests. It also considers the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence, cloud accounting, blockchain, and data analytics on the accounting and auditing profession. The study concludes that effective accounting and auditing systems enhance organizational performance, stakeholder confidence, and sustainable growth while supporting compliance with changing financial reporting requirements.
