Intelligent Monitoring of Ground-Based Weather Modification Equipment and Its Engineering Applications
Abstract
Abstract: Ground-based weather modification equipment increasingly needs process monitoring andstandardized operation records. Using ground-based operation records from Kizilsu Prefecture in 2025 andJanuary-March 2026, eight snow-enhancement cases, and patent materials on updraft monitoring, this studyanalyzes equipment application characteristics and proposes an intelligent monitoring pathway. Among 197operation records, 176 involved AgI generators and 21 involved rockets; 142 records were related to snowenhancement and 55 to rain enhancement. The available materials describe post-operation precipitation butdo not contain the control-area, radar, satellite, and natural-background data needed for quantitativeattribution. Therefore, this paper focuses on equipment monitoring rather than effect estimation, andproposes a sensing-validation-identification-decision-feedback framework that embeds updraft sensing, equipment status, operation records, and post-operation review into a closed data chain.
