US 5th Air Force and Camden Airfield's Untold Story from World War Two

Abstract
This blog post explores how the US Air Force assessed Camden Airfield during World War II, conducting assessments in 1942 and 1944. Initially deemed a minor installation, it underwent significant upgrades by 1944. Although American forces never occupied it, Camden's potential transformation into a garrison town raised concerns about the community impact of RAAF and RAF personnel at the airfield between 1940 and 1946. This is an updated post from 2015.
