The Hypergamy-Equality Paradox Mathematical Proof of Evolutionary Mismatch as the Primary Driver of Demographic Collapse in Egalitarian Societies

Open access0 citations

Abstract

Contemporary demographic policy attributes the unprecedented fertility collapse in highly developed nationsprimarily to economic factors such as housing costs, youth employment anxiety, and childcare expense. Thispaper demonstrates that these traditional sociological frameworks suffer from profound internalcontradictions and fail to account for the fertility paradox observed in egalitarian welfare states. Weintroduce a novel formal framework—the Hypergamy-Equality Paradox—which mathematically provesthat as institutional gender equality and female socioeconomic autonomy approach parity, the probability ofsatisfying evolved female hypergamous mate-selection filters approaches zero. Utilizing evolutionarypsychology, neurobiology, and game theory, this monograph establishes that the modern demographiccollapse is not a policy failure amenable to fiscal engineering, but a structural Evolutionary Mismatchresulting from the collision between ancient reproductive algorithms and modern institutional design.
