PLI Technical Report: A Testable Working Hypothesis Linking Glueball Width to the Strong Coupling Constant
Abstract
This technical report proposes a testable working hypothesis within the Pure Locking Inference (PLI) framework: the strong coupling constant at the glueball scale is related to the glueball vacuum viscosity by α_s = 2πη_s, where η_s = Γ_glueball / (m_glueball c²). The proportionality between glueball decay width and vacuum viscosity is derived from PLI reasoning; the exact coefficient 2π is motivated by phase circulation normalization but is not yet derived from first principles. Using the experimental value α_s(M_Z) = 0.1179 ± 0.0010, the hypothesis predicts a glueball width of approximately 94 ± 5 MeV, consistent with the current measured value of 100 ± 20 MeV. The hypothesis is falsifiable: future precision measurements of the glueball width will determine whether the 2π coefficient is correct. Even if the hypothesis is excluded, the PLI core framework remains unaffected.
