Curated Effect-Size Data and Analysis Code for a Multilevel Meta-Analysis of Conifer Responses to Experimental Drought

Abstract

This repository contains the curated effect-size data, analytical code and supporting materials for a multilevel meta-analysis of conifer responses to experimental drought. The archive includes 832 drought-versus-concurrent-control log response ratios derived from 76 experimental studies across 14 harmonised conifer genera. It provides the primary and sensitivity-analysis datasets, climate metadata, PRISMA and search records, study-level provenance crosswalks, taxonomic harmonisation records, executable R code, derived model outputs, machine-readable supplementary tables, source data underlying the quantitative figures, and interactive figure files. The accompanying manuscript examines how experimental drought affects water and carbon fluxes relative to growth across conifers and provides an empirical benchmark for evaluating drought responses in vegetation models. Publisher PDFs and restricted database exports are not redistributed in this archive.
