[TI-2.03] A Set of Visual Signatures on the Border Band of the Frontal Image of the Sarcophagus Lid of Pakal: Distribution of Signs over the Intra-group Edges of the Cubic Graph

Abstract

The cubic graph obtained at the preceding stage from a set of visual signatures of the Tzolk'in system contains connections of two kinds: between nodes of different groups and within groups. The inter-group connections were placed in the previous work; the present work sets the task of distributing the remaining intra-group connections and thereby completing the graph to the full set of connections. The material is a set of visual signatures on the border band of the frontal image of the sarcophagus lid at the Temple of the Inscriptions (Palenque). The signs are distributed, in three groups, over the face diagonals as designations of connections between nodes; the distribution is carried out so that each group of connections bijectively covers the base set of the graph's coefficients. The result is the complete graph of intra-group connections. The numerical values of the connections correspond to the capacities of the five flights of the central staircase of the pyramid of the Temple of the Inscriptions. The correspondence is recorded as a coincidence of numerical values and entails no claims of a historical or constructional link. The question of the intentionality of the observed structures remains outside the scope of the work as unfalsifiable.
