Abstract

Religious Studies material spans across several different representation of textuality and data: manuscript descriptions, sensitive interviews, photographs of objects subject to community restrictions, multilingual bibliographies, and the methods notes that hold a project together. This guide is a handbook for managing such data through any sort of research activity — from the first Data Management Plan (DMP) to the long-term deposit five or ten years later. The aim of this document is to provide a general, but clear guidance through the basic practices of research data management which can significantly improve the efficiency and durability of research in Religious Studies, regardless of its scale: from single papers to entire research projects. It is written for researchers, data stewards, librarians, archivists, and collection holders working within or alongside the RESILIENCE research infrastructure.
