Technical Report v1.17: Correction Notice — DOI 1.4, Video B

Abstract

Notice Technical Report v1.4's evidence package includes **Video B** ("System Display, Unedited"), a screen recording of a personal, self-built educational tool used to study SSIM's behavior directly (a local interactive web dashboard). That recording shows the tool using the SSIM stabilization constant C1 = 0.01 — the value later found to be incorrect and corrected in Technical Report v1.10 (C1 was missing the squaring required by the standard Wang et al. (2004) convention Ci=(KiL)²; the correct value is C1 = 0.0001). This tool is no longer in use, and no value or finding published in any Meritcs technical report depends on its computations — it was a self-study aid only. This notice exists so that no reader of Technical Report v1.4 mistakes what Video B shows for a still-current value. No correction to Technical Report v1.4's own text is required: the report's written content does not state a numerical value for μc anywhere. Only the archived video shows the outdated constant on screen.
