Zulfia Theory of Equilibrium: Two-Component Necessity and the Failure of Solo Equilibrium

Abstract

AbstractClassical equilibrium theory has treated equilibrium as a property of a singleobjective, a single field, or a single player’s optimal response. This paper identifiesa fundamental gap: equilibrium cannot be reached by a single componentacting alone. Just as a single hand cannot clap, a single mathematical componentcannot construct equilibrium.Within Zulfia Equilibrium Theory, founded on the Zulfia DecompositionMappingZ(x, u) = η(x, u) + ∆(x, u) (1)we prove that equilibrium — defined as the zero state of the Zulfia GapG(x, u) = 0 (2)— requires the cooperation of two irreducible components: the DirectionalComponent η and the Structural Component ∆.Three theorems are established: the Solo Impossibility Theorem, the Two-Component Necessity Theorem, and the Zulfia Equilibrium Theorem. Nash equilib-rium, Walrasian equilibrium, and physical force balance are all recovered as specialcases.
