Statistical analysis and development trends of the insurance sector in the Republic of Azerbaijan

Abstract

The article analyzes the overall condition of the insurance market of Azerbaijan in 2025 based on official statistical data provided by the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The study examines the volume of insurance premiums and claims, their structural characteristics, and dynamic development trends. The statistical analysis reveals that the insurance market demonstrated growth in 2025; however, the faster increase in insurance claims compared to premiums indicates a rising risk burden within the sector. Furthermore, the socio-economic interpretation of the indicators shows that the development of the insurance sector significantly contributes to strengthening financial security and improving risk management for the population. The article also evaluates the current state of the insurance market and provides scientifically grounded conclusions regarding its future development prospects.
