Frame-QL: An Introduction

Abstract

An introduction to Frame-QL as a query language for declaring governed analytical results rather than relational production procedures. The paper explains why the requested output frame can be the query; how AT declares the final output anchor while expression-local @ {…} pins an input anchor; how the Manifold supplies governed analytical context; and why Frame-QL creates an analytical-request boundary distinct from physical SQL manufacture. Version 2.3 preserves the Theory-of-Data v6.1 reconciliation of Version 2.2 while correcting the authority split for formal syntax: the Frame-QL grammar is authoritative for formal syntax, while the Frame-QL Manual is authoritative for shipped semantics, canonical form, operators, outcomes, reason codes, implementation terminology, and version-specific behavior. It also updates the companion references to A Primer on Frame-QL, Version 2.2, and Introduction to the Theory of Data, Version 2.2. Shipped Frame-QL syntax and behavior are unchanged.
