SCIENCE AND RELIGION: A UNIFIED VISION OF DR. S RADAKRISHNAN FOR THE FRAGMENTED WORLD

Abstract

The present article is an analytical study of the speech Dr S Radhakrishsnan delivered at Madras University convocation ceremony. With the great concern for the fragmented world, he advised the young generation to be spiritual with scientific temper. Science and religion are interconnected and young generation need to have strong spiritual roots to progress. He gave a message to the Indian youths by giving an overview of India’s glorious past. He opined that the present education system is making students materialistic and commercial there by taking them away from their roots. He advises the newer generation about the immense potentialities they have in them to build a strong future India with strengthened spirit for the nation.
