A Primer on Frame-QL
Abstract
A Primer on Frame-QL introduces Frame-QL as a query language for declaring governed analytical results rather than prescribing relational production procedures. Using examples such as average revenue at different source anchors, it explains why the requested result can be the query, why output dimensions alone may be insufficient to identify analytical meaning, and why Frame-QL distinguishes expression-local input-anchor pins (@) from the final frame output anchor (AT). Version 2.1 aligns the Primer with The Theory of Data, Version 6.1, inherits the Frame-QL Manual’s compatibility boundary between current theory and retained shipped vocabulary, and adds the four shipped adjudication outcomes: serve, serve with disclosures, clarify, or refuse. It also sharpens the role of Frame-QL as a bounded analytical-request interface for AI-assisted analytics while leaving shipped Frame-QL syntax and behavior unchanged.
