Requirements Catalogue for an Instrumented Racing Motorcycle and Its Team-Management Platform
Abstract
The complete requirements catalogue maintained during the engineering programme behind a doctoral dissertation on instrumented racing motorcycles. It records 1,029 uniquely identified requirements — 849 functional and 180 non-functional — covering the on-vehicle systems (data acquisition, communication protocols, traction control, braking, aerodynamics, track-surface analysis, circuit mapping, data logging, power management and rider interface; 274 entries) and a team-management platform for logistics, finance and scheduling (735 entries), with 20 further entries spanning both. Each entry carries an identifier, a description, an intended priority and an intended verification method. The catalogue records what was specified, not what was achieved. No entry carries a verification result: the verification column names the method intended for that requirement, never an outcome. Subsystems that were specified and never built are deliberately retained, and no claim of the dissertation rests on any entry here; the subset traceable to the dissertation's objectives, with the verification status each actually reached, appears in the dissertation's own annex instead. The majority of the catalogue concerns the team-management platform, which carries none of the dissertation's objectives and is included only for completeness. It is deposited so that the specification is inherited rather than reconstructed by anyone continuing the programme. Supplied as a machine-readable CSV (one row per requirement, eight columns), as the LaTeX source with a standalone build wrapper, and as a rendered 42-page PDF. One requirement has been withheld because it concerns claimed subject matter of a patent application currently under examination; it is absent rather than reworded, and the gap is declared in the accompanying README. That README also documents the composition of the catalogue, the ten citation keys that do not resolve against the dissertation bibliography, every difference between this deposit and the working copy, and the provenance of the file — including the deletion, before deposit, of narrative sections whose reported quantities had no supporting record.
