物理统一方法论The Methodology of Unity: Inductive Paralysis versus Deductive Foresight in Fundamental Physics On the Strategic Priority of the Unifying Medium Hypothesis
Abstract
The history of physics presents a recurring methodological dilemma: should civilization wait until every unknown factor in every dimension is individually conquered before declaring the unification of the fundamental forces, or should it posit---as a working hypothesis---that all fundamental forces are unified in a common medium, and use that premise to guide the conquest of the unknown? This paper argues, on epistemological and historical grounds, that the second strategy is not merely preferable but necessary. The first strategy---the "inductive trap" of expert scholarly caution---leads to infinite regress, resource dissipation, and the permanent postponement of unity. The second strategy---the "deductive imperative"---employs the unifying medium as a regulative working hypothesis that directs experimental and theoretical effort toward the most consequential unknowns.Drawing upon Lakatos's methodology of scientific research programmes, we demonstrate that CSF-CMT's meta-field ontology (ξ_EO) functions precisely as such a unifying medium hypothesis. It is not a dogma to be defended at all costs, but a hard core that generates protective belts of auxiliary hypotheses (the six string-empowered modes, their coarse-graining gradients, and cross-couplings g_AB) which are deliberately exposed to empirical risk. The six dimensions---gravitational, electromagnetic, magnetic, weak, strong, and repulsive---are not obstacles to be cleared before unity is announced; they are the phenomenological content that the meta-field hypothesis is obliged to explain. The order of knowledge is thereby reversed: unity is the premise, not the conclusion. The paper concludes with a methodological charter for PΩ.1.0: declare the medium, then conquer the dimensions .
