FINDING: Babylonian cuneiform tablets reveal base-60 (sexagesimal) arithmetic and advanced geometric methods, including a precursor to calculus for tracking Jupiter's motion. MATH: Base-60 system; trapezoid area method for velocity-time graphs (distance = area under curve); constants: 60, 30, 12, 6, 2, 1 (sexagesimal fractions). CONNECTION: Base-60 directly links to geometric harmony: 60 = 2² × 3 × 5, enabling exact division by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 20, 30 — foundational for circle division (360° = 6 × 60) and crystallographic rotational symmetries (60°, 120°).
