Concept, Mechanism and Stable State of Unsaturated Constant in Physical Chemistry

Abstract

AbstractFor many centuries, only the saturated constant (Cs) is known in the literature ofphysical chemistry. The concept of unsaturated constant (Cu) remained unidenti-fied.This paper introduces the distinction. A constant C is saturated (Cs) when itscapacity is zero, and unsaturated (Cu) when its capacity is greater than zero.The mechanism is defined by feasibility F . For an unsaturated constant F (Cu) =1, it remains feasible and reactive. For a saturated constant F (Cs) = 0, it fails.The stable state S of Cu is its chemical residence. It is the solvent, the lattice, orthe reaction medium where Cu remains unsaturated and active. Outside its stablestate, Cu becomes saturated. Inside its stable state, it is stable.S(Cu) = Chemical State (Solvent / Lattice / Medium)After centuries of only Cs, the introduction of Cu and its stable state opens anew path in physical chemistry.
