A Primer on Frame-QL

Abstract

An accessible introduction to Frame-QL as a query language for declaring governed analytical results rather than relational production procedures. The Primer explains why a requester can state the analytical result and final output anchor without specifying tables, joins, or GROUP BY; why output dimensions alone may not identify the quantity being requested; and how Frame-QL distinguishes the expression-local input-anchor pin @ {…} from the frame-level output anchor AT {…}. Version 2.2 preserves the Theory-of-Data v6.1 reconciliation introduced in Version 2.1 while correcting the formal-syntax authority wording: the Frame-QL grammar is authoritative for formal syntax, while the Frame-QL Manual is authoritative for shipped meaning and behavior. It also updates the companion reference to Introduction to the Theory of Data, Version 2.2. Shipped Frame-QL syntax and behavior are unchanged.
