Glossary of Core Terms, Notation, Interpretation Rules for the General Theory of Cognitive Structuring Series
Abstract
This document provides the canonical terminology and interpretation layer for the General Theory of Cognitive Structuring (GTCS). It consolidates the core terms used across the theory, records the principal notation associated with those terms, and makes explicit the non-equivalence rules required to prevent similarly named constructions from being treated as identical across different owner papers. The glossary is designed for cross-document use. It distinguishes, among other things, configuration from architecture, coherence geometry from structural burden, structural-update admissibility from pre-symbolic admission, representation existence from accessibility and use, and the three distinct identity constructions used in the GTCS corpus. It also records cross-node notation aliases where source-local notation would otherwise create ambiguity. The document is an interpretive and terminological authority, not a replacement for the owner papers or the Technical Appendix. It does not create dependency edges, stable results, proofs, proof status, empirical measures, or implementation claims. Its purpose is to make the terminology of the Version 2.0 GTCS corpus readable without collapsing formally distinct objects.
