A 719-bp deletion in heme oxygenase gene BrYGL1 disrupts heme metabolism and impairs chlorophyll biosynthesis in Chinese cabbage

Open access0 citations

Abstract

To examine the global effect of the BrYGL1 mutation on gene expression in Chinese cabbage, RNA-seq analysis was employed to the profile gene expression differences in leaves from green leaf Y640-288 and yellow-green 17-Y984-1, each with three replicates. Approximately 232.7 million clean reads were generated for the six cDNA libraries, ranging from 35.1 to 43.8 Gb reads per library. Totally, we identified 7978 differentially expressed genes (DEGs), among which 4009 genes were upregulated and 3879 were downregulated in the yellow-green leaf 17-Y984-1 compared with green leaf Y640-288.
