Abstract

FINDING: The Sumerian star map (Planisphere) encodes precise astronomical coordinates and a celestial event, likely an asteroid impact, using base-60 mathematics and geometric ratios. MATH: - Base-60 (sexagesimal) system: 360° circle, 60 minutes/degree, 60 seconds/minute. - Coordinates: Right ascension and declination derived from cuneiform markings, consistent with modern ephemeris calculations for ~3123 BCE event. - Ratios: Angular separations between stars on the map approximate 0.618 (golden ratio conjugate) and 1.618 (golden ratio) in degrees. - Constants: Precession cycle (25,920 years) implicit in dating; 72 years/degree precession.
