Open access0 citations

Abstract

This white paper provides a comprehensive analysis of Solana (SOL), one of the leading blockchain platforms and cryptocurrencies. It explores Solana’s history, development, and technological foundations, highlighting its innovative Proof of History (PoH) mechanism combined with Proof of Stake (PoS) to achieve high transaction speeds, scalability, and low transaction costs. The paper examines how Solana processes transactions, the role of validators and network nodes, supported wallet types, cryptographic protocols, and the operation of smart contracts through its SeaLevel architecture. It also discusses the Solana developer ecosystem, including community growth, hackathons, and the use of the Rust programming language for blockchain development. Finally, the study presents a technical and fundamental analysis of Solana’s architecture, comparing it with traditional blockchain systems and evaluating its advantages, challenges, market position, and future potential within the evolving cryptocurrency landscape.
