Abstract

This is a research registration documenting the predictions/analyses designated as prospective. The document also identifies analyses already undertaken. It describes measures of binary decision performance, including: accuracy measures, reaction time distribution measures and information accrual model parameters. Predictions are made about the effect of time pressure and difficulty on all measures in terms of effect size and sensitivity. Some predictions are confirmatory predicting support of earlier studies. There are 5 studies, one of which has already been explored. It is predicted that other 4 studies will show similar results. A NEW prediction is that the magnitude of effects of time pressure and difficulty will reliably discriminate between theoretical information accrual models. This has not yet been explored on any data set. It is further predicted that Decision Diffusion Models, DDM, will be more powerful than Linear Ballistic Accumulation, LBA, models. International Society for Psychophysics provided some funding, but is not a recognized funder.
