Abstract

DECISION: REJECT ELEMENT: The 30-minute opening range concept is incompatible with E8's 15s–7m scalp window. The retest rule requires 3 bars of 5-minute data (15 minutes total), which is too slow for our fast exits and introduces a session-dependency that conflicts with Gods-Clock rhythm logic (which operates on fractal time cycles, not fixed calendar windows). The 0.25 ATR filter is also too coarse for our tight stop/exit geometry. EXPECTED IMPACT: Near-zero win-rate improvement (0–0.5%) because the edge would rarely trigger within our trade duration. When it does, the retest bar's close/open condition adds a lag that often misses the actual reversal point, degrading profit factor below 1.2. RISK: (1) False signals in low-volatility Asian sessions where the 0.25 ATR filter is too tight, causing whipsaws. (2) Overfitting to the 30-minute window—different pairs require different OR lengths, adding complexity without clear benefit.
