Forecasting the trend of entrepreneurship research using time series analysis

Abstract

Entrepreneurship research, typically based on providing solutions for problems and facing challenges in this field. For this purpose, 30948 articles indexed over the last 45 years in 55 international journals were analyzed. Then, 320 keywords and 97 country names were extracted from the data analysis. Upon analyzing the trend of entrepreneurship research in the past 45 years, the leading topics in the next ten years were forecasted using time series analysis (TSA). Considering their historical trend, the majority of the given articles had laid much focus on innovation and technology management, Venture resources and actions. Based on the forecasts, two topics, viz., research methods in entrepreneurship and innovation and technology management are expected to see the highest number of articles, and those of entrepreneurs’ personality and gender along with research methods in entrepreneurship are to grow the most in the next decade.
