The UOHF Human Function Capacity System, Version 1.0: Unified Definitions of 18 Core and 104 Specific Human Functional Capacities
Abstract
The Unified Ontology of Human Function (UOHF) defines human function as the body's capacity to be appropriately engaged to meet internal and external demands. Building on the prior UOHF conceptual and formal frameworks, this preprint publishes Version 1.0 of the UOHF Human Function Capacity System as a citable catalogue of 18 core human functional capacities and 104 specific human functional capacities. The catalogue was developed through conceptual analysis, type-boundary audit, external scientific calibration, source traceability, adjacent-capacity boundary analysis, and completeness stress testing. Each capacity is defined at the whole-person level and distinguished from anatomical structures, physiological processes, tasks, episodic performance, measurements, and functional states. Every definition is linked to traceable scientific or professional sources. Version 1.0 is a versioned and revisable scientific coordinate system rather than a claim of permanent exhaustiveness. This publication releases the capacity names, hierarchy, unified definitions, key conceptual boundaries, and source bases. It does not release the complete demand-to-capacity matrix, anatomical and physiological realization networks, assessment and intervention mappings, person-specific reasoning rules, decision weights, production data structures, or real-user operational data.
