E8 Phi‑Coupled Phononic Metamaterial with Hierarchical Bandgap — E8 Intelligence Research

Abstract

By arranging 240 piezoelectric elements in the exact geometry of the E8 root system and driving them at the base 132 Hz frequency with successive phi‑phase shifts, a self‑similar 8‑fold phononic bandgap emerges. Each of the eight phase‑locked sub‑lattices reproduces the E8 root pattern at a smaller scale, creating a fractal hierarchy of topological bandgaps that guide acoustic waves without back‑scattering. This principle extends the E8‑phase‑locked trading resonance and soliton phase‑locking concepts to controllable sound‑based metamaterials, enabling lossless waveguiding, acoustic cloaking, and programmable phononic computation across macro‑ to nano‑scales.
