Description of Elaiopezia olivaceobrunnea sp. nov. (Pezizaceae) and new collections of E. boudieri
Open access0 citations
Abstract
New collections of Elaiopezia (Pezizaceae) species allow a better morphological and ecological circumscription of E. boudieri, as well as the discovery of an unknown taxon found in France and Germany, named E. olivaceobrunnea, well characterised by its smooth ascospores and asci with croziers. Both species are described and illustrated in detail. Molecular data obtained during this study also improve the phylogenetic resolution of taxonomy within this genus. The possible synonymy between Elaiopezia polaripapulata, a European species, and E. waltersii, so far known only in North America, is discussed.
