Abstract

Louise Shelley's Dirty Entanglements arrives as a landmark contribution to transnational security studies. Drawing on more than fifteen years of field research across six continents, Shelley, University Professor at George Mason University's Schar School and founder of TraCCC, advances a deceptively simple but analytically powerful argument: corruption, organised crime, and terrorism are no longer discrete phenomena but constitute a mutually reinforcing system whose interactions fundamentally transform each component.
